Since 1991, I have been prophesying about what God would do in His church and America. My first book,
, proved to be an extremely accurate prophecy of what happened during the 1990s and 2000s. I prophesied of the coming revival, how that revival would last seven years and be followed by a season of winter and time of war. I even prophesied that war would take place in the middle east and then spread east.
When I prophesied what I prophesied, few were speaking of the possibility of revival taking place in America or around the world. Most were wondering, why was revival tarrying? In December 1993, the floodgates of revival opened and hit Canada at the Toronto Airport Vineyard. It just so happened that I heard about this revival because I was a member of a Vineyard Church in Elgin, IL. Like wildfire, that revival spread: to Pensacola, FL, Smithton, MO, Lakeland, FL, and even evangelical Wheaton, IL.
In 1995, I wrote a series of unpublished prophetic words for the next season entitled, Decade of Disaster: A Season of Winter and Time of War. I decided to not publish those prophetic words. Little did I know that what I prophesied in those prophetic words would become front-page news headlines. That season lasted for seven years...and lingered. We had 9/11, two wars (Afghanistan and Iraq), the apocalyptic collapse of the world's banking system, and the American foreclosure crisis. It truly was a decade of disasters.
In 2003, I wrote my most important book,
The Third Reformation is Coming. In that book, I prophetically shared how the global church could enter into the next move of God, what that move of God was and how it related to the historical context of prior reformations (Protestant and Pentecostal Reformations). Now, the church was on the cusp of the next reformation. That is where we are today...still on the cusp of that next reformation.
I feel like the writer of Hebrews must have felt when he wrote, "by this time you ought to be teachers" but "[y]ou need milk, not solid food." Heb. 5:12, Christian Standard Bible. We still wrestle with what will happen in the next move of God because there is an uncertain sound among today's prophets on what that move of God is. As such, I feel it necessary to bring clarity to what that next move of God will look like beyond what I wrote in my book,
The Third Reformation is Coming. To do that, I will reference both history and prophecy.
Although historically the Dark Ages ended in 1000 A.D., it was the Protestant Reformation that brought the church out of its Dark Ages. What was the Protestant Reformation? The Protestant Reformation was sparked when Martin Luther's ninety-five theses were posted on the door of All Saints Church and sent to the Archbishop of Mainz on October 31, 1517 (Reformation Day). With that reformation came the rebirth (Renaissance) of civilization.
The Renaissance, possibly one of the most creative periods in our history, began under the spiritual influence of Saint Francis of Assisi and culminated in Italy during the Protestant Reformation under Luther. The link between that spiritual reformation fomented by Assisi and the artistic renaissance is visible. Writing, poetry, music, and art all came alive at this time in our history. Barbarism was lost. Humanity was gained. Cultures were formed.
The Pentecostal Reformation was different than the Protestant Reformation and yet it had a similar effect on civilization: it produced what we are still in today, a technological revolution. The Pentecostal Reformation began when Agnes Ozman received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit on January 1, 1901, in Topeka, Kansas. She couldn't speak or write in anything but tongues for 3 days. From there, the Pentecostal Reformation spread.
Since then, society has been driven by a Technological Revolution. That Revolution has produced significant breakthroughs in transportation (from horse and buggy to cars, airplanes, and spaceships), communications (mail and post to telephones, television, and radio), medicine (we now understand the human genome and can shape DNA), science (significant breakthroughs in atomic and quantum particles), and machines (robotics and artificial intelligence). New technologies are rapidly being created. We are living what Daniel prophesied, "Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase." Dan. 12:4, ESV. Yet, we still lack wisdom.
If we are on the cusp of the Third Reformation, which many prophets, including me, have prophesied, and with each reformational movement there is a corresponding advancement of civilization, what is next? That is what I will share in this post.
To understand what is next, I will open the pages of scripture to determine what the next move of God is. I want to focus on a yet unfulfilled prophetic word by the prophet Isaiah (739 B.C. to 681 B.C.). In Isaiah 2:2-3, which is mirrored by another contemporaneous prophet, Micah, See Micah 4:1-2, we can glean wisdom regarding the next advancement in society. What it says in Isaiah 2:2-3, Literal Bible Translation, is:
2And it has come to pass, || In the latter end of the days, || The mountain of YHWH’s house is established, || Above the top of the mountains, || And it has been lifted up above the heights, || And all the nations have flowed to it. 3And many peoples have gone and said, “Come, and we go up to the mountain of YHWH, || To the house of the God of Jacob, || And He teaches us of His ways, || And we walk in His paths, || For a law goes forth from Zion, || And a word of YHWH from Jerusalem.
In this passage of scripture, we see the exaltation of God's house in the last days. That passage says YHWH's house will be exalted above all other mountains (combined understanding from multiple translations). Further, it says all nations will flow to that mountain. And from that mountain will proceed the law (Torah) and word (Dabar) of the Lord. For further information on the Hebrew word, Dabar, see Plugging Into the Spirit of Prophecy, pg. 42.
It is not an accident that Lex Rex (the law is king) has been promoted and propagated in America for 200+ years. Nor is it an accident that lawlessness is the primary threat to America. No, America is a forerunner nation. We are a standard-bearer and beacon carrier for the nations. That's why America is such a threat to Satan's kingdom. That's why Satan is seeking to destroy America through rampant misuse of the law aka lawlessness. See Breaking the Spell Over America.
Nevertheless, with the advent of The Third Reformation, we can expect a transformation of society. Like the Renaissance and Technological Revolution facilitated by the First and Second Reformations, respectively, a great transformation is coming. While much of the church is looking for the coming of the anti-Christ, I eagerly await the coming of Jesus Christ. As Jesus's coming draws near, we will see the emergence of His kingdom on earth.
Yes, I believe in the Third Reformation, the Coming Transformation, and the establishment of Christ's Kingdom. I believe the gospel is real, relevant, and vital today. See The Gospel is Enough. As Jesus said,
This good news of the kingdom [the gospel] will be preached throughout the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end [of the age] will come. Matt. 24:14, Amplified Bible.
