We are on the precipice of a radical reformation within the prophetic movement. For years, the prophetic movement has been gathering steam inside and outside the church. Prophecy has become a hot topic. In fact, prophecy has become headlines news. In 2016, Prophets like Jeremiah Johnson, Mark Taylor, and Hank Kunneman gained national prominence for prophecies given predicting the election of Donald J. Trump. The news media recognized the fact that prophets likely affected the 2016 election. That is why so many listened to the prophecies spoken for the 2020 election.
Now, prophets have been placed in an uncomfortable position by their prophecies. Numerous prophets, including but not limited to Jeremiah Johnson, Traci Cooke, and Kevin Zadai, predicted the election of Donald J. Trump in November 2020. President Trump was not inaugurated on January 20, 2021. Joe Biden was. Before Biden's inauguration was a mad rush on the Capitol building to prevent certification of the 2020 election. Millions of people were upset over the election, and they reacted. It was a defining moment in our nation's history. We learned an all too real history lesson - nations can crumble.
Then, prophets who had prophesied that President Trump would win the 2020 election, doubled down on their prophecies: they predicted President Trump's return to the White House. The first date given was in March 2021. Then, April 2021. Then, August 2021. August is almost over. Will prophets be vindicated? Or castigated? As much as I might like for President Trump to return to the White House in August of 2021, it will not happen. Rather, prophets who prophesied his return will be required to eat a large dish of humble pie. Or they will continue to prophesy false prophecies.
As a prophet, I have a special interest in what is taking place in the prophetic movement. I was born again on February 23, 1987. Then, I learned I had been prophesied over by a Catholic priest as a baby. Then, I received visions, dreams, supernatural visitations, and prophetic words regarding God's calling on my life as a prophet. In 1989, I was called into the prophetic office. In 1991, I received a prophetic word for America. In 1994, I published that prophetic word, Decade of Destiny. I prophesied that we would experience revival then war. It has proven to be an extremely accurate prophetic word.
I see promulgation of prophecies. Like weeds, prophecies have grown. Believers have been activated into the prophetic. Yet, often those prophecies given, fall to the ground; they fail to come to pass. That isn't the standard given in Scripture. In 1 Sam. 3:19, Amplified Bible, it says of Samuel, "Now Samuel grew; and the LORD was with him and He let none of his words fail [to be fulfilled]." That is the Bible standard. Today, we have an abundance of prophecy, but we lack the veracity of our prophetic words. We have prophetic activations, summits, gatherings, congresses, and conferences. But we lack His tangible, life-changing presence.
We have a problem in the prophetic movement. One of the most significant problems in the prophetic movement is our focus on personal prophecy. I believe in personal prophecy. But personal prophecy is not the primary purpose of the prophet. Prophet are governmental gifts to the body of Christ. Prophets are called to establish Christ's kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven. Yet much of the church is waiting for Heaven when Jesus said to pray for Heaven,
Your kingdom come, Your will come to pass, as in Heaven also on the earth.
The primary purpose of the prophet is to bring Heaven on earth. Prophets release words and wisdom from Heaven to bring Heaven to earth. We can see this in Isaiah 44:26, which says, "Who confirms the word of His servant". That is where much of the church stops. Yet that verse doesn't stop. It continues, "And performs the counsel of His messengers". The prophetic has stopped. We have stopped at God confirming the words that His prophets speak. But prophets do more than give prophetic words; they also provide prophetic counsel that God performs.
Much of the prophetic movement has never heard of the counsel of a prophet. Yet the counsel of the prophet is greater than the words of prophets. What do I mean? God confirms the words His prophets speak, but He performs the counsel that His prophets give. God does what His prophets counsel. That means God's miracles are tied to the counsel prophets give. Prophets provide prophetic instructions for miracles to manifest. When prophets begin to give counsel, pay attention, miracles will manifest.
But much of the church is stuck in prophecy 101. We have never moved to prophecy 201 or prophecy 301 or higher. We don't even know that there is more. Yes, there is a greater depth to the prophet than what the church has walked in to this point. There are greater realms. And, no, I am not talking about visions or dreams or "visiting Heaven". Rather, I am talking about Heaven visiting earth...and staying. That is what true prophets bring - Heaven on earth.
Prophets establish Christ's government. Now, prophets cannot establish Christ's government the world's way. We cannot establish Christ's government by military conquest. Neither will Christ's government be established through civil government. That is why the church in America is struggling: we have done things the world's way. But Christ's government cannot be established through worldly wisdom or ways. No, it requires Heaven to visit earth. But we cannot force Heaven on people.
Jesus, realizing that they were about to come and make Him king by force, withdrew again to a mountain by Himself. Jn. 6:15, Berean Study Bible
Jesus made the entrance into His kingdom voluntary. After His resurrection, Jesus could have conquered the earth by military might. But He didn't. Why? Because Jesus wanted His message, His gospel, to change the world. Yet we have preached everything but the gospel. Much of the church doesn't even know the depth of the gospel. Yet we think we are wise. We think we know more than the fathers and mothers from prior generations. We have much to learn.
Prophets enable us to recover what was lost in prior generations through revelation. That is why we need prophets; they prophesy grace into our present. Grace?! Yes, grace to enter what prior generations knew. Grace to receive a revelation of the Risen Christ. Grace to build God's kingdom on earth through His gospel message. Grace to recover the goodness and greatness of the gospel message. Grace to deliver us from what our generation is struggling with the most - self-deception.
Yes, we need a reformation within the prophetic movement. We need prophets that bring God's government through the unadulterated revelation of the pure gospel message. Prophets who bring wisdom and guidance through the fog of confusion that is present in the church today. The spirit of deception has covered the eyes of the church, both believers and leaders. Yet, we think we are wise. Our foolishness stands as a testament to those lies we have believed.
We need true prophets today. We need prophets who bring clarity. We need prophets who bring purpose. We need prophets who bring purity. We need prophets who bring revelation. Yes, that is what we need in the prophetic movement. We need a reformation among prophets to bring the purity of the heart and mind of God to God's people. We need pure prophecy free from the worldly influence of self-promotion, self-deception, and ungodly gain.
We need deliverance from those Balaam prophets in our midst. We need deliverance from the corrupted wisdom of those Jannes and Jambres wizard prophets in our midst. We need deliverance from the false prophets of perversion, who like Esau sold their prophetic birthright for a morsel of meat. We need deliverance from those prophets who sell doves in God's house; who merchandise the anointing of the Holy Spirit; who trade in the spirit of iniquity and transgression for hire. Yes, we need a reformation within the prophetic movement.
I have good news. It's coming! Get ready!
